Would you consider it an insult if someone called you a yuppie? My chiropractor called me that a couple of days ago and it's been festering in me since then. I told him I'd been doing tons of yard work lately, almost every day after work. He said, "Yes.. the great yuppie hobby.." or something like that. Gaaaa! I am *not* a yuppie, do not call me one, though I'm not as extreme in my negative opinion as the manifesto on this site.
I'm don't feel like I belong to the baby boomers or GenXers (technically, having been born in 1964 puts me at the extreme trailing edge of boomerdom, but I don't really belong with that group). Can I just call myself a tweener with youthful tendencies who likes to garden and have a nice home and a steady job and likes to play with new technology and has a bunch of friends who live in my computer?
Oh, funny stuff from my friend Geekie: A Blog dedicated to all the absurd and annoying things New York City hipsters do, say, wear, and probably, think. The post from July 19th is hilarious. Check it out.
