Stephen Walther will be at this month's South Sound .NET meeting presenting his spin on the future of ASP.NET and the part ATLAS plays in that future. I don't know if other people do this, but sometimes I cram for a presentation if I don't feel knowledgeable enough about the subject matter. Luckily, I've been to couple of presentations on AJAX already, so I had a clue. I dove into ATLAS over the weekend, downloading the extensions for VS2005, going through the walkthroughs and reading through the forum threads. It's starting to come together in my brain, and I'll get much more out of Walther's talk now, I'm sure.
Stephen Walther was named a Software Legend by Microsoft in March of this year and is the author of the recently published ASP.NET 2.0 Unleashed and has been author or co-author on several other ASP related books. If you're not already planning on attending the meeting this Thursday, and you have an interested in web application programming and/or expert prognostication, you should come on down. And don't forget to hang around for beers after.
