and test business applications and systems.
Simultaneously responsible for a variety of assignments within Russell’s
Enterprise Applications Services (EAS), participating in new development, as
well as, support, enhancement and maintenance of existing applications and
systems. For new development, analyze
work processes to extract business rules and design user interface and
functionality. Develop and enhance
applications using VB, VBA, database connectivity with Sybase 11 and SQL Server
2000, Microsoft Analysis Services (MSAS), Excel macros and Access databases.
Create support documentation as needed.
1. Designed and developed MSAS OLAP Cubes for Russell’s
London Office for the DataLINK project.
Assisted in development and testing of database file loading system and
database processing, involving heterogeneous data sources from multiple vendors. Primary developer for production migration
and support. Provided data and process
analysis to business unit during development and migration phases. Produced documentation for ongoing support
and maintenance. Serve as SME for
technical issues during enhancement and support activities.
2. Was primary developer supporting Russell’s effort
during the Necho7 (an expense reporting system) upgrade. Provided analysis, code, testing and processes
to convert existing data elements from older system for upload into new
one. Provided support for Financial
department.
3. Served as application developer on team responsible
for migrating Russell’s Research Database from Sybase to MS SQL, altering Excel
macros to interface correctly with the new database and system.
4. Was primary developer for project involving
enhancements to mission-critical Rebates application used by Russell’s London
Office. Provided analysis, code, testing
and documentation. Delivered finished
product one-week ahead of deadline.
Continue to provide primary support for Rebates.
5. Provide cross-training and mentoring to fellow
maintenance and support developers for a wide range of Russell products and
systems. Created support documentation
and troubleshooting guides for that purpose.
6. Currently working as sole developer for Client
Management Reporting (CMR) data conversion, switching from Sybase data sources
to SQL Server. Involves in-depth data
and application analysis, design and coding in VBA and queries for Access.
7. An upcoming project will involve bring Russell SQL
database objects under source management for the first time. Involves scripting objects, recompiling with
encryption to prevent unmanaged alteration.
Will be responsible for writing developer work instructions for using
new system, including use of Visual Studio 2003 database projects for future database
enhancement and support.
Led development teams
producing new applications and/or enhancing existing ones. Participated in all phases from requirements
analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation. Facilitated
problem-solving sessions between stake-holders and developers in
cross-divisional teams.
·
Designed, developed, and tested Java desktop application for use by
management to review employee work through file filtering and random
sampling. This solo project began with
self-paced training in Java, Swing sets, and the use of the Netbeans IDE. Analyzed
work processes to extract business rules and design user interface. Led development team responsible for integrating
this application into the current production system. Responsible for design, test generation,
project documentation, and status reporting.
·
Designed and
coded enhancements for an enterprise web application serving a worldwide
customer base, using ASP, DHTML, VBScript, JavaScript, SQL and MDX queries,
Visual Basic 6.0.
·
Member of development team responsible for porting a VB 6.0 desktop
application to 24/7 web environment, available to our customers worldwide,
utilizing ASP, XML, SQL and MDX queries.
Took a leadership role in facilitating team effectiveness by ensuring
clear and accurate communication (often translating technical information for
non-technical team members), and for monitoring and integrating the efforts of
offsite members. Facilitated negotiations
between offsite developers, technology providers and stakeholders, proposed
solutions and helped manage changing design and project plan documents.
·
Designed, developed and tested a web application used by staff to
manage customer and project data in SQL Server 2000 databases. Security and reliability were paramount for
this data and end-user account management tool.
·
Designed, developed and tested two specialized Windows desktop
applications for use by technical analysts, using Visual Basic 6.0, ActiveX
components, and a proprietary database and search engine. Both applications allow users to review and
edit files, search a reference database and incorporate the search results.
Software Engineer

Performed high level analysis
and design of software programs and systems.
Created, analyzed, modified and tested programs and systems. Used industry standard programming
techniques to translate requirements and designs into code. Analyzed and solved problems in existing
systems. Designed, coded and tested
multiple modules of a system in a timely manner. Designed tests, created test data and
participated in test execution and evaluation of data. Provided project documentation and status
reporting.
·
Worked on team developing Windows end-user application to replacing MS
Access database for the Collection Analysis product group. Served as liaison to contract programmer,
communicated specification changes and defined business rules, performed initial
testing, coordinated further testing and gathered test results. Serving as technical expert, wrote user and
technical documentation.
